I think that people feel anxious about their existence because it is difficult to prove that they are conscious.

With vague memories such as afterimages, they can barely re-recognize their actions because they are desperate  to confirm their existence.

Memories, which have disappeared into oblivion, are obscure like shadows, but they can sometimes flashback clearly.
