Quietly There

2023, installation (four essays, 2ch video, sound)

Excerpt from the reading: "Remi is Alive" by Hirano Imao

When we imagine a city, what is it that we leave behind? This work is an installation that quietly attempts to evoke the landscapes and sensations that once existed there. Today’s Tokyo is enveloped in dazzling light, and it has become commonplace to experience nights where even the stars are invisible. However, not too long ago, this city was engulfed in fire, leaving deep scars. Through four essays, videos, and sound, the piece shifts focus to the memories that faintly linger in the shadows of the bustling city. It creates a space for quietly reflecting on the people who have already disappeared from this landscape.
